Eve and Todd met in Todd’s hometown of Buffalo, NY, while Eve was a student at the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. Todd was studying to be a computer programmer. He then left Buffalo to learn for the year at Yeshiva Sh’or Yoshuv in Far Rockaway. Eve and Todd were married in August 1999 and established their first home in Buffalo. After Eve finished medical school, the couple moved to Kew Gardens Hills and Eve began her residency in psychiatry at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
A few years later, they settled in Hillcrest. Todd began learning at Yeshiva Madreigas Ha’Adam and received Semicha in 2010. When not learning, Todd is a senior IT manager at Colony Capital. Eve completed her residency in psychiatry and her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, winning the Faculty Prize for Clinical Excellence. She currently works for the Arista Center for Psychotherapy and the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services where she sees patients and, with a concurrent appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, supervises residents studying psychiatry. She also maintains a private practice at the Center for Healthy Minds in Cedarhurst.
Despite their busy schedules, Eve and Todd always find time to help their shul, their yeshivas and their community. Todd gives shiurim and is assistant Gabbai at Congregation Ohr Moshe, and was instrumental in establishing the Avos U’Banim learning program on Motzei Shabbos at Yeshiva Madreigas Ha’Adam. Eve is an active board member at the Yeshiva of Central Queens and a former vice president of the Parent Teacher Organization.
The Sullivans are active at YCQ: participating in Sunday morning learning, the Selichot program, and the Israel Day Parade. As Class Mother Vice President for many years, Eve helped arrange collations for the Siddur and Chumash plays and the Third Grade Melave Malka. She also worked on the Chanukah Boutique and the Book Fair. Along with the Sissers, Eve and Todd are helping to organize the new 5K Run/Walk Campaign in memory of Michael Simanowitz a”h to support YCQ and Avigdor’s Helping Hand.
Eve and Todd have four children. Their oldest, Leeba (’14), is a graduate of Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central) and is presently studying in Israel at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim. She will iy”H study at Stern College starting next year as a member of the Honors Program. Yosef (’16) is a junior at MTA, where he is a member of the hockey and tennis teams. Yosef is a talented trumpet player. His trumpet playing began while spending many years in the YCQ band. Rivka is currently in eighth grade at YCQ and is on the winning debate team. She is participating in Names Not Numbers and Set3. She and her cousin Aaron won first place in the YCQ science fair and went on to win first place at the Inter-Yeshiva Science Fair. Sarah Leah is in fifth grade. She is an accomplished ice skater and is part of the Mishmar program. She is an excellent student with tremendous midot.
